Thoughts of a Sulky Black Girl pt 2 : Pandemic Panic

It’s been a minute, let’s catch up…

These past few weeks have been somewhat hectic and heavy. But in saying that, they have fuelled me to write more meaningful and encouraging posts for you all. I felt like venting today, so will talk about the pandemic, and touch upon a few points that just aren’t adding up.

The world is in a very fragile state right now. Personally, I think we are in the midst of a spiritual warfare. What is a spiritual warfare you ask? It’s the Christian based idea that suggests we as humans, are in a battle against certain evil and demonic forces, that are trying to intervene and control our way of living. Might sound crazy, might sound about right, only God knows! (Will talk more about this in an upcoming post.)

In times like these it’s probably best to keep stimulating our minds. Research and educate ourselves through books and articles that aren’t from propaganda based news outlets.

Paris = Big mood

Question everything that doesn’t feel right to you. Like the way the UK government has handled the pandemic, where is the sense? However, it’s promising to see a majority of the public waking up. Not being satisfied with the answers we are fed but instead, we are demanding more. We want the truth. We deserve it.

I think we are owed an explanation. One that doesn’t leave us more confused to begin with! An explanation backed with evidence and truth. Instead of having to trust the words of a so-called “scientific expert”. But I doubt we will ever get that. If the truth is ever revealed, (because we know the mass media pick and choose what they want to report on), I’m sure it will be labelled a cOnSpIrAcy tHeOrY, of all things!

Some people have argued, it was impossible to predict how much of an impact COVID-19 would have on the population. So complaining and making remarks now on the governments plans, (or lack of), won’t get us anywhere…

Listen. Do not let the media silence you! If you feel upset, irritated and even angry about how the government has handled this pandemic, you have every right to! Why do you think so many of us have gone out to protest, despite the current situation we are in? We’re not satisfied.

The government, PM Boris Johnson, has flip-flopped the idea of whether masks should be compulsory or not. Why wait until July to decide masks should be mandatory in certain public places? What scientific evidence proves covering our noses and mouths will actually protect us? Shouldn’t we let our antibodies go to work and build an immunity to this virus? I’m no “scientific expert”, but I have an expertise in scepticism!

Even to this day, I think the government think the public are sheep. August was a month to help give back to the economy. “Eat out to help out”, discounted prices on our favourite restaurants to encourage us to go out and spend! But not even a month later, and young people are now the cause for a spike in Coronavirus infection rates, because they went out?? Where is the sense?

In the midst of it all…

I could go on and on because I have so many unanswered questions. But I’ll leave that for now. In the words of Murad Merali, (who I think you should definitely check out on YouTube), “the maths is not mathing,” meaning things just aren’t adding up! All I can really suggest, is to not take everything you see and hear as 100% factual. I’m sure those in positions of power are making it up as they go along!

Remember to use your judgement and not let the opinions of the masses sway that. We are not sheep. We are capable of doing our own research and coming to our own conclusions. In the midst of the all the sadness and negativity that has taken over this year, let’s try and stay positive. Think about our mental well-being and be grateful for whatever good there is left in the world.
